Kevin Hart Discusses Marcus Makes A Movie

Kevin Hart—actor, comedian, filmmaker, and proud alum of Allen M. Stearne Elementary—returned to his roots in a virtual event during which he chatted face-to-face (well, virtually) with current 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders about his children’s book Marcus Makes a Movie. He answered their questions, shared how personal experiences shaped the story, and spoke passionately about the importance of having dreams and seeing yourself represented in books. Every student in those grades received their own copy, thanks to a generous donation of more than 1,000 copies from Random House and First Book, so that each child could read along, in their own classroom or at home.
