Dear Parents and Guardians,
It is with great pride and excitement that I write this letter of introduction to you as the newly appointed principal of Allen M. Stearne Elementary School! I am honored to have the opportunity to lead this school and continue serving in Philadelphia. My passion for education and supporting the success of all students has been shaped over the past 17 years as an English teacher, assistant principal and principal in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
As a mother of 2 children myself, I recognize the importance of a strong home-school connection. Parents are every child’s first teacher and I believe that by working together, we can make sure your child’s social, emotional, and academic needs are met. An excellent education is not possible without the effective collaboration of students, parents and staff.
It is my belief that great schools are the result of great teachers and that learning should be FUN! Therefore, my priorities as principal of Allen M. Stearne Elementary School include:
-Increasing student achievement by enhancing teacher quality and effectiveness in the classroom
-Increasing parental involvement that promotes clear support of the instructional program
-Creating multiple opportunities for students to take on leadership roles within the school
-Ensuring that student needs and interests help shape instruction and extracurricular activities
A new principal presents opportunities for various beginnings. Having change brought to you at the beginning of the school year gives us an opportunity to make plans, design strategies and implement new ideas. I look forward to learning with you and from you this year. Together, we can ensure that we are all growing for our number one priority: Doing what is best for our students!
Your partner in education,
Ms. Mecca Jackson
